Orangutan

          Orangutan are the great ape with long sleeves and hairy reddish or brown, which live in tropical forests Indonesia and Malaysia.  Orangutan name derived   from the malay language, that it ‘people’ which  means human and ‘utan’ that means forest. They include vertebrate animals and also mammals or primates which are  a family of Hominidae. Orangutan is the threatened animals because their population status has been very hard to found because the many poaching by humans and forest fire.
Physical characteristics of the orangutan is almost equal to human but their bodies covered with fur is reddish or brown hair. They have body fat and big, big neck, with long arms and strong, short and bowed legs and not have tails. Male orangutan weight around 50-90 kgs, while the famale orangutan weighting up to 30-50 kgs. When it reaches sexual maturity levels, male orangutan has a fat tamples on both sides, the crown of a large, and growing long hair becomes a bears around the face, they have senses the same as human, is hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch. They also have a large brains, eyes that leads forward, and hands that can grip.
Orangutan is a omnivorous animals, but most of the their only eat plants. Usually, they eat the bark, foliage, flowers, and some types of insect as well as most types of fruits. Basides, they also feed of nectar and money. Orangutan don’t need to leave their tree if their want to drink. They usually drink water that has accumulated in the holes between tree branches where their live. Predator largest orangutan is human and the other like a leopard, pig, crocodile, python and black eagle.
Female orangutan usually give birth on age 7-10 years with long gynecology rages 8,5 to 9 month. Babies born normally only one, their baby can live alone on age 6-7 years. Dependence orangutan on its mother is the longest of all the animals, because there are many things that must be learned in order to survive, they usually maintained until the age of 6 year old.
Orangutan can move quickly from tree to tree with by means of swinging on tree branches, or commonly called Brachiating.They can also walk on two legs, but rarely found. Orangutan can’t swimming. Orangutans don’t live in a large flock, they are semi-solitary animals. Orangutan males are usually found alone and a females oranguta usually accompained by some of his children. Orangutan are arboreal animals, meaning that their live and active in the trees is different from other types of apes.
